Seed Library Grand Opening

The Grand Opening of the Seed Library will be joined with the 2012 Food Charrette on February 25, 2012. The Food Charrette will be at the Community Center 9:30-3:30. Registration is $5 BYO lunch or $15 with catered lunch. This event focuses on increasing availability of local food on Lopez Island and invites those who sell, cook, retail, process, grow or eat food!

Percy Schmeiser Guest Speaker at Harvest Dinner

The 2011 Harvest Dinner was Saturday, October 22, at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Center with guest speaker Percy Schmeiser. Percy Schmeiser is a farmer from Bruno, Saskatchewan, Canada, whose canola fields were contaminated with Monsanto’s GMO Round-Up Ready Canola.
