    LCLT Membership

    lopezisland community land trustThe Lopez Community Land Trust is a membership organization founded on the principles of membership involvement. Members are the backbone, heart and soul of the organization. They elect the Board of Directors, vote on by-law changes, serve as board and/or committee members and review the Annual Reports. Equally as important, members sustain the long term goals of the organization through volunteering and contributions.     Why is LCLT membership important?

    Public and private funding grants to LCLT always want us to demonstrate strong local backing through membership and membership contributions. The more comprehensive our membership, the more likely we are to be funded. About 10% of Lopezians currently are members.

    As an LCLT member, you also have access to our new Seed Library.  All members are welcome to apply to join a committee. You are entitled to vote at our annual membership meetings, nominate board members, receive annual reports, periodic newsletters and updates, and receive invitations to meetings and special events.

    LCLT is a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation with an open membership and a democratically-elected board of directors.

The LCLT welcomes the financial support of members and others who understand the vital role community land trusts play in our community.     Become an Intern

    Our internship program offers young people a chance to get deeply involved with the LCLT. The SARD Internship Program allows young adults and college students the opportunity to get involved in the work of the LCLT and learn valuable agricultural skills. The Housing Internship Program, which runs when the LCLT develops a new housing project, is a unique opportunity for individuals to gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in home construction.
